Florence + The Machine - No Light, No Light

I can’t even begin to express my love for Florence + The Machine. After the huge success of her first album, she came back with her second, Ceremonials, that completely threw her first off the radar. The songs on Ceremonial have a more intense and funeral-esque style that has heavily matured from the experimental childhood songs of the amazing Lungs whilst still keeping signature sounds such as the use of harp. Playing around with various genres, Ceremonials provides the perfect soundtrack to celebrate life and death. No Light, No Light does exactly what Florence does best; slow intense build up of verses into a powerful burst of chorus which intertwines every single instrument known to man over which her voice reigns. Florence Welsh is a bloody goddess.

P.S. Personal favourites of the Album: What The Water Have Me, Shake It Out, No Light No Light, Only If For A Night, Heartlines and Spectrum (and all the others).

P.P.S. I tried desperately to get tickets for her March shows (one of which was on my birthday) but sadly didn’t. My cousin did.
